POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on working with a series of social innovations, the FARMWELL project had developed key
recommendations primarily targeted at farmer support organisations (farmers’ associations and
advisory services) and policymakers. The FARMWELL Policy Factsheet brings together the key
overarching findings and recommendations from the 7 specific policy cases. It is a Call for Action
for policymakers and farm support organisations, supported by information on:
  • Why farmers’ wellbeing matters?
  • What is social innovation in FARMWELL?
  • How to make social innovations happen?
  • What policy tools do we have?
It is also complemented by a Catalogue of social innovations and a analysis of Governance challenges &
recommendations to overcome these. Get inspired. Let’s care about farmers and make a change through social
innovation!
7 Policy Cases have also be developed to share the lessons and recommendations from working specific social
innovations:

Supporting the mental health of farmers

Supporting farmers’ collaborations

Supporting social farming

Countering irregular work

Improving healthcare services in rural areas

Supporting farmers’ energy communities

 Using SROI to inform policymaking
